Rick graduated from UBC in April 1973 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Urban Land Economics. He joined Duncan Elliott in May 1973 at Newcombe Appraisals. He has remained with Grover, Elliott since January 1, 1974. Appraisal experience is wide ranging, extending from single family residential to major industrial, retail and office developments.

At the end of April 2023, after 50 years of working as an appraiser at Grover Elliott, Rich Young retired.
