Mr. Oord has been working in the real estate profession since 1999. Prior to joining Grover, Elliott and Co. Ltd. in 2001, Michael was employed at Arthur Andersen LLP as a member of its Real Estate Consulting Group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography (1999) as well as a Diploma in Urban Land Economics (2001), both from the University of British Columbia.

 

As an undergraduate, Michael's focus was in urban geography and planning. His expertise were expanded into real estate management and appraisal while pursuing his Diploma in Urban Land Economics. In 2003, Michael obtained his AACI accreditation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Mr. Oord has extensive experience in the valuation of retail, office, industrial and multiple family residential developments, both existing and proposed. He has also appraised properties all over British Columbia, with a focus on the Lower Mainland and the Sea to Sky Corridor.

In February 2018, Michael, along with his two long-time colleagues, Brent McLaren and Angus Heaps, purchased Grover Elliott. The three partners continue to complete appraisal work as they manage the company.
