Angus started his career in real estate appraisal in 2008, working with us to update and maintain our comparable transaction database. His responsibilities soon evolved. In early 2009 he began working with a team of three appraisers; assisting them with such matters as market research, report drafting, and liaising with our clients and other end users of our reports. Later in 2009, Angus was promoted to the position of appraiser.
Angus received his Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree with a minor in Geography from the University of British Columbia in 1995 and Bachelor of Education degree in 1996. After teaching in the West Vancouver school district for three years, Angus combined the knowledge and experience he received while obtaining his bachelor degrees to begin a career developing educational coaching software in 1999. With an ongoing interest in urban development and real estate Angus enrolled in UBC's Sauder School of Business in 2007. In May 2009 Angus received a Diploma in Urban Land Economics. Angus obtained his Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute, Professional Appraiser designation in 2012.
In February 2018, Angus, along with his two long-time colleagues, Brent McLaren and Michael Oord, purchased Grover Elliott. The three partners continue to complete appraisal work as they manage the company.
When Angus is not completing appraisals he can be found on the court, field or diamond coaching one of his children or enjoying a round of golf.
