Shannon Hui

Shannon graduated in 2008 from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science with Honours and Co-op in Biotechnology. She worked four years at a local biotechnology company specialized in ocular therapeutics and was responsible for pharmaceutical formulation development and manufacturing scale-up to ensure process robustness, quality, and consistency of product prior to joining Grover, Elliott & Co. Ltd. in the fall of 2012 as a research analyst. She became a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada in the summer of 2013 under the mentorship of Larry Dybvig and received her AACI accreditation in the spring of 2019.

Her appraisal experience includes valuation of commercial strata units, apartment projects, industrial properties, office buildings, retail shopping centres, and development land, and extends to insurance appraisals, leasehold/leased fee valuations, expropriation assignments, actual cash value analyses, and the appraisal of corridors. She continues to work closely with Larry to assist with research and report drafting in various litigation files and enjoys the challenges that come with unique assignments and unusual appraisal problems. Shannon also holds a Diploma of Urban Land Economics from the Sauder School of Business and is qualified by the Real Estate Institute of Canada to complete depreciation reports for Strata Corporations as a Certified Reserve Planner.
